Memorial Day Weekend 2008!
This was the biggest and certifiably the wildest crowd ever to invade the desert!
There were record crowds
everywhere! Every hotel/campground from Parker to Needles had the no vacancy
sign out! The small desert community of 35K grew over night to a estimated
population of 200K+

Friday night at club Kokomo's there were record crowds of 6000+ people partying the night away! During the day
there were so many boats in the channel that you could walk across them like a
bridge from one
side of the channel to the other. Copper Canyon was so crowded that people and boats spilled
onto the lake. Needless to say it was off the hook! If you plan on coming to Havasu
Memorial day weekend 2005, make your reservations early!
What to Expect?
Your Day's will be spent at Copper Canyon or the San Bar! Copper
Canyon is a large cove where it is not uncommon to see 100's of boats tied up
together creating a floating party! If the Sand Bar is open, it's a 20 minute
boat ride up the Colorado river to a large sand bar where people park there
boats and party! If you are staying at Havasu for a week we would suggest that
you take a day and continue up the Colorado river for another 35 minutes and do
some gambling in Laughlin, Nevada. The casinos are right on the river! Do not
forget to get gas in Topac on your way, it would suck to run out. If you are not
going to stay the night in Laughlin head back to Havasu before the sun goes
down! If you are inexperienced at navigating the Colorado River at night you
will crash... If you stay the night in Laughlin be sure that you go to club
Tarzans! It starts to get crowded around 11pm and the party lasts all night.
What to Bring?
If you are planning a trip to Lake Havasu in the spring you can
expect the weather to be quite mild with temperatures ranging between 75 and
95 degrees in the day, and 65 to 75 degrees at night. We suggest that you
bring a sweater and pants for the cool evenings during March and April.
Leave the sweaters and pants at home if you are planning a trip between May
and October because it is hot! Day time temperatures are 100 to 120 degrees and the nights
are a cool 85 to 100 degrees... Travel light! there are plenty of grocery
stores, liquor stores, clothing stores, restaurants, well just about any thing
you need you will find in Lake Havasu City! There is no need to load down your
car with a bunch of things that you will not need, just bring the essentials
because items like food can be bought with in walking distance from London
Bridge. During the day you will be in shorts and bikinis enjoying the sun and
the refreshing water of the clear lake! You may want to bring a nice clubbing
outfit if you want to enjoy a night out at one of the many bars, clubs,
restaurants, or parties that take place in Havasu on a nightly basis. Be sure
that you bring sandals, a good pair of tennis shoes, sunglasses, your id, money,
and sun block! ** Be Smart ** If you are driving to
Havasu, be sure that you pack some water and snacks in your car incase your car
breaks down in the middle of the desert!
